Ending of first quarter

First quarter is coming to an ending and everybody is stressing out over turning in there assignments and getting their grades up. There is finally going to be the first conferences of the year and students are not excited. By this quarter ending it means that fall sports are over and now winter sports start. Winter sports consist off boys and girls basketball , boys and girls wrestling and also boys swimming. Last year we lost some really good athletes in all sports but we also gained many other athletes that came up from the middle school. Last year the girls basketball team made it to districts we then went against east valley we sadly didn't get the win the season later ended there. For boys basketball we didn't get to make district but they still had a good season. Also last year girls wrestling made it to both district and state, the girls placed in state but did not win. Boys wrestling did not make it to either state or districts, but we might have a chance this year to make state.

I asked some student on their thought of their first quarter ending and what they think about winter sports starting. I first asked Cecilia Arciga a sophomore here at GHS how her first quarter of the year was going? “It was pretty bad because I had three 1.0. I didn't seem to get much help from my classes” Another question i had asked was what changes would you make if you had the chance for first quarter? Cecilia then said “I would stay after school and try to re do my work” The last question was about the winter sports that were coming up this month. Cecilia responded “ for basketball we might make it to districts but i'm not sure. But for girls wrestling i know we'll make it to state because we have Adri Graff and Mollee Weddle who are returns from last year.” So Cecilia is very confident that our girl wrestlers will make it to state this year.

Wednesday the 6th will be the first day of conferences from 4 to 7 and thursday will be the second day from 8 am to 8 pm.We will not have school from thursday to monday. When coming back we will have a fresh start.
