Senior Exit Interview 2.0

The senior exit interviews are designed to allow high school seniors to showcase their lives as high school students. Students will often provide pictures to serve as evidence to the impact they have made in these short four years. In the past, seniors presented portfolios with scanned items of best works and community service hours among other academic achievements. Last year, this process underwent major reconstruction, and seniors were instead required to prepare answers to set questions that may be asked. Questions that may be asked is, “Where do you see yourself in the next five years”, the student would then respond with perhaps a picture of acceptance to their college of choice or a paycheck to an occupation they have, as well as explaining how this piece of evidence supports their answer to the question asked.

This year, the process was changed even more. Currently, senior exit interviews will be ran similar to a job interview. The board has also decided to stray from the question method and instead give students four categories that random questions will stem from. Students will be asked at least one question from each of the categories that follow, “The Student as a Learner”, “Community Outreach and Citizenship”, “Senior Project”, and “Future Plans”, for seniors, a bit more information on the requirements can be found on canvas, GEMS, and the very bottom of the list for Modules.

The goal of this interview process is to allow students to participate in a mock interview and gain experience for future interviews in life. This is also to help students review and reflect on their accomplishments of their past four years. This new process means students need to be well versed in their information and prepared for the 15-20 minutes they are being interviewed.
