Boys Soccer State Bound

March 16, 2017 the Grandview Greyhound boys soccer traveled to Archbishop Murphy High School in Seattle for their first round of state. The boys took off at 9:00 a.m. They stopped at North Bend to rest and have a light breakfast. After breakfast they continued to hit the road. The boys got to Everett, Wa around 2:10 p.m, they went to the park nearby to relax and to bond as a team before the big game. Around 4:00 p.m the boys arrived at the AMHS field to start warming up. The first state round game commenced shortly at 5:00 p.m, with an international walk on and a prayer towards both teams. The Greyhounds boys didn't know what to expect at the first half so AMHS took that to their advantage and scored two goals first half. During half time coaches were talking to the boys about how they need to come back and not give up. At this point the boys had a mindset of scoring at least second half since they didn't get the chance first half. As second half began our boys lost control of the ball and AMHS scored two more goals. About 20 minutes left into the half senior Alex Martinez number 9 scored with the assist of senior Roger Ontiveros number 14. But with all this Archbishop boys didn't give up scoring 2 more goals towards the end of the game. The game ended with the score of 6-1. The Greyhounds learned to be able to take the win they need more than 80% of the team trying. It was a very hard experience for the Greyhounds especially for the seniors. The Grandview Community is proud of how far the Grandview Greyhounds have made it to this season. Although, this last game was a tough one the Grandview Greyhound Boys soccer team had a pretty good season. We are hoping more from the boys next year and wishing them another great season next year. Good job to the soccer boys and to the seniors don't bring yourself down because you gave the Greyhounds many wins. Grandview Greyhounds 2017 Boys Soccer season is officially over and to the underclassmen this isn't goodbye it's more of a see you soon.
