Pro Sports Career Day

On April 19, 5 kids, Monica Macias, Greg Vivar, Rosalina Martinez, Josh Verduzco and me, got the chance to see what it’s like to work in the sports marketing world for the Seattle Mariners. There were 6 speakers all working in either the team store, social media, root sports, and many more on the marketing side. They told us how they were able to get where they are today and what it's like to work for the Seattle Mariners. All speakers has said that internships were very helpful in their careers. Some started with the Seattle Mariners and some had started in other sports team. They said how their job is more of a lifestyle rather than a career. You have to spend extra time and it's not like any other job. After they had told their stories, we were able to watch the Mariners play. Not only was it a good game but we also got Ichiro Bobble heads. As it being Ichiro’s first time back in Seattle since playing for the Marlins, Felix Hernandez was also pitching. Even though it was cold, there was lots of excitement. Mariners did end up with a win of 10-5 and Ichiro did get a home run. Overall Pro Sports Career Day was a fun day.
