What is Coachella?
One of the most popular music and arts festival that A-list singers and celebrities come to go sing and dance. As it is getting closer it makes “normal” people to know what they will have in store for 2017
History
The first time it got featured was in 1999, created by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen. This year the dates of Coachella is April 14 to 16 and April 21 to 23. It is one of the largest, most famous, and most profitable musical festival in the United States AND all over the world. One of the most memorable performance was Daft Punk in 2006. Some past performances for Coachella were Madonna, David Guetta, Jay-Z, Eminem, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, and Rihanna.
Ticket Price
When getting your tickets you have 2 options, you can get the General tickets which is good for all 3 days or you can get the VIP which gives you all access to shaded areas, picnic tables, couches, extra restrooms, food & beverage vendors and a full cash bar plus the tickets to all 3 days. Now the general tickets is $399 and the VIP is $899, so if you really want to go you gotta save up. The best time to get tickets is January after they announced the lineup. Currently they are sold out. Even though it's too late to go see it, there is a chance to see it. Youtube will be streaming the festival live.
Headliners
Some feature headliners for the 3 days are
14 & 21- Radiohead, Travis Scott, Dillon Francis, Mac Miller, and Capital Cities
15 & 22- Lady GaGa, Future, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, Gucci Mane, and Bastille
16 & 23- Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Future Islands, DJ Khaled, Marshmello, Lil Uzi Vert, Galantis, and Tove Lo.
Beyonce cancelling
As Beyonce announced that she is having twins just recently, it did caused her to skip Coachella. Now people had mixed feelings including me because I’m happy she’s having twins but sad that she is not performing. Many people did buy the tickets because of Queen B, so it did make people even more mad. But they announced that she will be performing Coachella in 2018. Due to the cancellation, it did make the ticket prices dropped and Lady GaGa filled in her spot.
