The Grandview Boys Basketball have been working hard to make it to playoffs. They have been getting mentally, and physically prepared for the upcoming games. Being Coach Medinas first year as varsity head coach he feels excited about making it to districts. One of their goal was to make it to postseason, so for them to accomplish one of their goals is great. Also, post season is a totally different atmosphere of basketball and they are glad that the team gets to experience that. A main focus the guys are looking forward is playing tough defense, and getting the ball inside the post. Coach Medina stated “The student section has a HUGE effect on our games. When we have a big and loud student section it gives out boys that extra push and energy, they make the games more exciting to play in.” The boys enjoys the support from the student section because it pumps them up. Coach Medina is expecting from each player to play hard and to the best of the best of their abilities. If they each do that they will have a good chance to win the game. Medina has been preparing the guys by watching a film of their previous games to see their mistakes and fix them and also what they have to do better. They have also been making some adjustments to their offense and defense that they believe will give better opportunities to win. The boys travel to Toppenish Thursday February 9th for a loser out distict match against the Toppenish Wildcats.
