Grandview kicks off the season with a WIN against the Pullman Greyhounds 60-43, both teams battled back and forth through the whole 1st quarter, it was getting messy at first and for it being Grandviews first game they had a lot of jitters. But at the end of the first quarter they tied it off with both teams ending with a 12 point lead. At the half both the Greyhounds were tied 24-24, Grandview started to clean up little by little and Bunker thought they did a great job by cleaning up and settling down. In the third quarter Grandview put good pressure on the ball and went on an 18-0 run, Grandview continued with the pressure on Pullman and Pullman did not like it. That's when Grandview had 26 points , and Pullman had 13 points to end the third quarter which put the score to 50-37. Grandview had some foul trouble during the third and fourth quarter, Grandviews leading re-bounder Karina Fajardo had 8 boards she fouled out fourth quarter , following her was Marlene Castilleja who had 3 points and 1 rebound. Michelle Ruiz was their leading scorer with 22 points, 3 rebounds 6 assists and 5 steals. Grace Meza also added 13 points, 2 assists and 3 steals . Pullman tried to shut them two out but they just work good together. Grace and Michelle had 2 amazing plays one where Meza passes to Ruiz and Ruiz with a open lay-up and an And-One where Ruiz was able to make a 3 point play. As Grandview continued to hustle throughout the fourth quarter. The Lady Hounds slowed it down and put a bit of pressure on Pullman and ending the score with 60-43 giving Grandview their first win of the season. Grandview will play at home against the Selah Vikings on Friday December 9, so come and support the HOUNDS!
