DECA Takes On the Western Reign

The DECA committee traveled to Seattle for 4 days from Thursday November 17th to Sunday the 20th for WRLC. WRLC is short for Western Region Leadership Conference, this conference prepares and gives students a feel of what’s to come for this DECA year bringing students together all from the western states including mexico. Having the ability to listen to keynote speakers and having the chance to go through practice mock competitions and mock job interviews. Attending these types of leadership conferences is a great way to give students the chance to become professionally prepared for the real world after high school. Every year this conference is held somewhere different, just like next year it will take place in Phoenix, Arizona. The DECA committee at our school went and took 14 of GHS students on this trip, including Brad Charvet the advisor of DECA at Grandview High School. The fun things about the students going was the opportunity to have them have more leadership in themselves, and grow as a student, and become more advanced in becoming better marketers. This event usually take place in November of DECA month. The traveled Seattle and they went sightseeing, and came across tourist attractions.
