Life of a GHS Female Swimmer

Lets dive in to grandview swim team with the story of what is the natural day of a swimmer and what they think of the swimming program. After interviewing some of the girls from the swim team, they say some of their typical practices are starting to swim multiple laps. ‘’It's cold outside most of the time but we still want to swim and get practicing’’ said Kendall Roberson a junior. Felicia Pena, also a junior said “Sometimes we do distance but I don't like distance”. The meets are super quick and during their meet’s they all get prepared to get into the cold water. The coaches and the team are cheering on teammates as they hold stopwatches while the other coaches from other teams are holding up hand signals. The swim meet get really intense. Pena says ‘’My mom made me start swimming in the summer but I quit a lot of other sports but I stayed with swimming and I thank her for that’’. This sport in this school is doing very poorly in the eyes of the swimmers nobody really pays attention to the swim team or the swimmer's. ‘’It's under appreciated, most people think that it is all fun and games. ‘’ said Kendall Roberson.
